In '95, I installed GIMP on my Amiga 1200 and made my first digital design for a band called Karma to Burn. That same year, I subscribed to HotWired and built my first website.
I sold that Amiga (R.I.P.) and bought a well-used Mac IIcx loaded with Photoshop, Illustrator and Quark X-Press. I read The New Typography by Jan Tschichold, absorbed books of Milton Glaser's work and WPA-era posters, and rabbit-holed every issue of my most essential monthly textbook, Communication Arts magazine.
Since 2000, I've maintained a solo studio practice, designing all manner of physical and digital things for artists and non-profits and the occasional brand. A few of my favorites are shown below.
